High-profile Southern Highlands agent Ben Olofsen joins The Agency

Media Release 14/12/17

The Agency has created a strategic link between the Southern Highlands and Sydney markets with the appointment of Ben Olofsen to the team. This is an important expansion for the network considering the Southern Highlands has experienced extraordinary price growth over the last five years, mainly due to interest from Sydney buyers looking for a change in lifestyle, investment or holiday home.

The premium market has risen by 76% over the last five years with a median house price of $1 million in the Wingecarribee Shire, as reported in March this year. And over the last decade, the dwelling values in the Southern Highlands have increased by 70.4% as of October this year.

Ben Olofsen joining The Agency creates a significant connection between our Sydney and Southern Highlands clients. There is enormous interest between these two markets and we can now service this demand,” Thomas McGlynn, National Director of Sales, explains. “Ben’s impressive track record in the area and his genuine care for his clients means he is the perfect fit for The Agency and the agent we needed on board.”

Ben Olofsen holds an impressive footprint across the Southern Highlands region and services a diverse range of properties. For example, on the 1st of this month Ben sold three properties, a $700,000 house in Sutton Forest, a $1.15 million home in Mittagong and a $3.25 million house in Bowral. This ability to provide a high level of service to the entire market is an impressive attribute, as is Ben’s dedication to his clients.

I am purely client focused, people come first. Transparency, honesty and my local knowledge allow me to service the Southern Highlands community to the highest standards,” Ben Olofsen says. “This is not just a transaction for me, it is a commitment to achieving the best possible results for my clients.

Having grown up in Bowral and now living locally with my family, I am truly passionate about the local community. With my four children I am heavily involved in the local sporting groups and a committee member for the BDCU Children’s Foundation.

It is this authentic connection to the Southern Highlands that drove Ben Olofsen’s decision to move forward with The Agency.

When I was approached by The Agency, it was clear that the brand provided me with the perfect platform to provide my clients with the highest level of professionalism and commitment, whilst accessing the databases of the highest performing agents in Sydney,” Ben Olofsen explains. “The Agency model allows me flexibility to tailor the most effective sales strategies specific to each client’s property and their individual needs."

A strong connection between the Southern Highlands and Sydney vendor/buyer networks is a key brand component for Ben, as he is experiencing an ever-increasing interest from the Sydney market. During the peak season two months’ ago, Ben was holding on average ten open homes a weekend and at least 75% of the attendees were from Sydney. But Ben’s decision to change brands was based on more than just The Agency’s reach.

On a cultural level I am excited to be involved with The Agency, as their focus is on people over profits. This is important to me.
