How It Sold | By Michael Bleby | May 13, 2024
Featured in the AFR 'How it sold' column as the most intriguing property sale this week, 21 Coventry Lane, Hamlyn Terrace on the NSW Central Coast presented by The Agency's Clint Harris sold at auction to first home buyers for $780,000.
Originally built as an investor product by builder Hudson Homes, properties such as this one on smaller 300sq m blocks are growing in popularity among first home buyers, Mr Harris told the AFR.
"Over the last few months I’ve [also] seen a shift in the marketplace. There’s confidence you can buy a property now. This is largely thanks to the RBA leaving rates on hold and saying it’s a wait and see. We’ve seen the buyer community really pick up and get a bit more aggressive," he said.
"We’re starting to hear a dialogue shift that buyers now can feel safe that if they can afford it today, they can afford it tomorrow, whereas previously buyers were saying, we can afford today, but can we afford it tomorrow?"
