Company Update: The Agency’s East Coast performance leading into spring

Media Rlease 19/06/18

The Agency’s East Coast operation has achieved significant results throughout 2018 to date, cementing the business’s reputation as the fastest growing network in the country. The Agency’s robust performance has placed the company in a strong position leading into the spring selling season.

Despite auction clearance rates dipping nationally, The Agency’s auction clearance rate for New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland currently sits at 80 per cent, this is 27 per cent higher than the industry average.

In terms of sales performance, particularly in the blue-chip markets, The Agency has achieved 16 sales above $5 million, and six sales above $10 million, since January. The team has also brought a number of prestigious properties to market, including the historic Nugal Hall in Randwick and Rona in Bellevue Hill, which is currently Australia’s highest priced home for sale. These high-profile listings and sales results have garnered significant media attention.

Along with notable sales results, The Agency team is growing rapidly. In the last six weeks, 12 new recruits have extended the East Coast operation.

On our Melbourne team, two high-profile agents Adrian Wood and Mark Sproule, have joined recent recruit Michael Paproth in our Albert Park office. Collectively, these two agents bring close to 50 years of real estate experience and hyper local knowledge to the operation.

On the Gold Coast, Doug Grevett, an agent renowned for his record turnarounds and multi-million dollar transactions, has come on board. He joins veteran agents John Natoli and Ryan Ward. Over the month of May, Ryan Ward has achieved a career record, successfully negotiating seven unconditional sales totaling $10,055,250 and one conditional sale for a further $4,000,000.

The Bondi Beach office has experienced the highest rate of agent growth, including local identity Alan Weiss, an agent who has garnered a dedicated client base over an award-winning and record-breaking 30-year period.

The Property Management division, under the direction of Maria Carlino, is also experiencing strong growth. In response to this demand, Maria Carlino has bolstered staff numbers, particularly on the Lower North Shore of Sydney and the Gold Coast.

The Agency Projects, under the direction of Steven Chen, has launched two new sub-divisions, the Site Sales and Acquisitions Division and the Development & Management Advisory Division. The Projects’ expansion has resulted in a number of significant transactions, which are currently under due diligence, with others nearing completion, culminating in a purchase value of in excess of $100 million in the last quarter of the 2018 financial year.

In other news, The Agency has engaged expert real estate coach Rik Rushton as the group’s exclusive in-house trainer. Rik has begun hosting a series of live events focused on the art of real estate mastery. The most recent event in Sydney, held last week, saw more than 100 agents take part.

“The Agency’s East Coast growth and performance to date has exceeded all expectations,” The Agency’s Group CEO Matt Lahood, says. “I and my fellow directors feel proud of the momentum achieved by the overall business and our impressive stable of agents. We have been humbled by the extremely positive response our brand has received from the market and our clients.”
