For the second week in a row, Bianca and Carla have been awarded top points from the judges, with the presentation of an immaculate and sophisticated ensuite. However, Kerrie and Spence used their ‘special’ one-point gnome, effectively snatching the win from the netballers.
Irrespective of the final result, the girls delivered a beautiful bathroom that works seamlessly with the look and feel of the rest of the penthouse.
“What I’m seeing here is the beauty of simplicity, where less is more,” said Neale Whitaker. “These girls really understand luxury.”
Neale applauded the girls’ simple and paired-back styling, while Shaynna loved their gun metal tapware and custom-made cabinetry, which has become somewhat of a signature.
And let’s not forget the all-important face-level storage!
Bianca and Carla have certainly learnt the lessons from the main bathroom reveal, installing plenty of storage space, which left Shaynna gushing.
“This is one of our favourite rooms. We love how we have used the stone in the shower and on top of the vanity and we have face-level storage,” says Carla.
“It’s far better than what we expected,” adds Bianca.
Drawing on a similar aesthetic employed in the main bathroom, the girls decided to incorporate the same materials – natural stone, concrete and timber – but integrate them in a slightly different way.
“We loved the elements we used in our main bathroom so we wanted to do a different take on this in the ensuite and use our beautiful stone and timber vanity again to create symmetry within the apartment,” says Carla. “We also tiled the ceiling, which was a big job for our tilers, and we used a match stick tile in the shower to create a bit of interest on that wall.”
The judges were extremely impressed.
“It feels pretty perfect,” says Neale. “I find this very, very sophisticated.”
