Willoughby is a peaceful suburb that offers a wonderful family lifestyle just eight kilometres north of the CBD. Willoughby’s immaculate quiet streets feature large family homes, many with period details, and stylish modern apartments. It’s a heaven for children with plenty of playgrounds and open spaces. Willoughby has a close community with many long term residents and a village feel with great shopping, including a Harris Farm, and an easy commute into the city, North Sydney or Chatswood.

Restaurants and cafes

The commercial centres around Mowbray and Willoughby Roads, and Penshurst and High Streets offer many cafes and restaurant options, including Dose Espresso on High Street and several very good Thai places on Willoughby Road. For casual dining, go to the Willoughby Hotel, which also specialises in craft beer. The landmark Incinerator Cafe is also a funky art space.

Transport

Artarmon is the nearest station for Willoughby residents. Express buses run through the suburb making it easy to travel to the city and beyond. The city is about 40 minutes away by public transport, or a 12 minute drive on the Warringah Freeway or minutes on the Gore Hill Freeway to Chatswood.

Schools

Willoughby Girls High School is situated locally, as is Willoughby High School. There is easy access to North Sydney Girls High School and Mercy Catholic College.

Parks & recreation

Willoughby Leisure Centre is located off Willoughby Road and offers gym facilities, an indoor swimming pool, along with basketball and netball courts. There is a playground and sports fields at nearby Bicentennial Reserve and the famous beaches of Mosman are a short drive away.
