The $5,000 grant will empower them to do more, support more and employ more underprivileged people to see them grow.
Who is Chris' Kitchen?
Founded by Chris Anca in 2014, the business has grown from a home kitchen experiment into a widely recognized brand, supplying over 150 cafes and restaurants across Western Australia. Chris' Kitchen is committed to creating a positive social impact through its business operations. Since 2017, the company has focused on providing employment opportunities for individuals facing significant barriers, such as disability, domestic violence, homelessness, and more. To date, they have offered over 37,000 hours of work to people in need.
In addition to their employment mission, Chris' Kitchen donates 3% of annual profits to hunger relief and employment charities, contributing to over 3,100 meals for those facing food insecurity. The company also supports economic empowerment, particularly for women entrepreneurs in disadvantaged communities, by funding small businesses and providing financial education.
Their commitment to social change extends globally, with initiatives like fundraising for Ukrainian refugees and supporting charities addressing food insecurity
How They Achieve This
Social Enterprise Impact: Chris' Kitchen has provided over 37,032 work hours to people facing barriers to employment. This includes people with or experiencing physical disabilities, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, autism, schizophrenia, homelessness or risk of, youth recovering from substance abuse, people with a criminal record, refugees, asylum seekers, language barriers, single mothers, and people aged 55 and over. They also proudly donate 3% of annual profits to charities and causes effectively aiding hunger and employment crisis.
Investing Impact: Chris' Kitchen believes that the world in which where you are born does not have to dictate a life of poverty. They have financed two female small businesses in the Phillipines and empowered two families to grow their income.
Hunger Relief Impact: Their vision is that of a world where no one goes to bed hungry and every parent can feed their child. So far, they have donated over 3100 meals
to those affected by severe food insecurity.
