Broken Crayons Still Colour

The Agency’s Leanne Waters is proud to nominate Broken Crayons Still Colour (BCSC) for this month’s Best of the West!

Broken Crayons Still Colour is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence reclaim their lives. The foundation provides assistance with nearly every aspect of life, from finding a new place to live and filing legal paperwork to dealing with emotional trauma and providing basic necessities.

Founder Rachel Mack’s own journey with domestic violence and her subsequent journey to reclaim her life were the inspiration behind her desire to help others. And that's how Broken Crayons Still Colour was born.

‘Basically, what we do is we take broken victims and turn them into empowered survivors’, Mack said.

BCSC are currently trying to raise funds for a large-scale transitional home that will serve as a safe home for other victims of domestic violence. Winning the $5,000 Best of the West prize will help them get there that much faster.

If you'd like to help BCSC win this award, you can nominate them too! Just follow this link to nominate them or someone else you think deserves it.

12 Buckets

The Agency’s Amber Sidon is proud to nominate 12 Buckets for December’s Best of the West!

12 Buckets is dedicated to the social and emotional well-being and development of school-aged children, regardless of background or circumstance. They want every child to flourish and to be equipped with the skills, support and connections needed to build a strong future.

Utilising a community of volunteers, 12 Buckets provides 1-on-1 mentoring to students, creating a space where these kids can feel safe, focus on themselves and see the possibilities that are within their reach.

12 Buckets is currently serving 4 primary schools in the Perth region, and are in the process of launching the program into a 5th school. Mack says the $5,000 Best of the West prize would help them equip that school with everything necessary to create a safe and fun space for those kids to flourish.

Conquer Cystic Fibrosis

The Agency’s Michael Keil is proud to nominate Conquer Cystic Fibrosis (CCF) for December’s Best of the West!

Conquer Cystic Fibrosis is a group of mums, dads, aunties, friends and volunteers dedicated to extending and improving the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that causes mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive tract. This buildup makes it very difficult for the body to remove waste. As a result, a person with cystic fibrosis has difficulty breathing and digesting food.

Apart from raising awareness, the group's main focus is to raise money that goes to medical researchers with the potential to save the lives of those living with the disease. To date, they’ve raised more than $3 million dollars, including the recent purchase of $200,000 worth of transplant equipment that helps those receiving new lungs, hearts and kidneys.

Volunteer Lisa Young says the $5,000 Best of the West prize would be used for similar initiatives.

You can help them get there by nominating them to win Best of the West by following this link
