Host Jon Williams caught up with Ryan Cole to find out more.
Jon Williams: Ryan, tell us about the design journey for these beautiful homes.
Ryan Cole: Jon, obviously having the river on our back doorstep was our main consideration. So upside-down living was always going to be the way we were going to design the home. We've also got the activity downstairs that overlooks the river from the ground floor. And just being able to have lift access, it means that these houses suit all styles of people that want to live here.
Jon Williams: And can you tell us why these homes are so special?
Ryan Cole: Obviously, we're in one of four here, and we had a block of 1184 square meters. So we designed the houses by effectively staggering them back. So when you're in your backyard space, you’re essentially not seeing the other houses at the back. Every house has its own views of the river. Also standard features for me is always looking at high indurated homes. We've got double glazing insulation; we're topcoat; we’re white houses for reflection. And these days, standard features that are expected include stone throughout, full height tiling, everything bespoke, aluminium skirtings and lift access, which is a real plus for people who want to downsize and always have access.
